The human body constantly forms acids, like carbonic acid, in the context of food intake and metabolism, like lactic acid, fatty acids, amino acids, keton acid and urine acid. It is actually well equipped with the ability to adjust its acid household. Our body can excrete or buffer acids. Excretion is done by the kidneys, the respiration, the intestine or the skin. Whether the body can completely achieve the necessary excretion, depends on its constitution and on the quantity of the acids supplied through our food.
Initially the body uses the free bases for the buffering of acids. If however these bases are no longer available in a sufficient amount, the acids in the connective tissue and in the cartilages at first are being intermediate and increasingly final-stored. One falls back also to own reserves, in order to adjust the lack of buffer material. Using own reserves means extraction of mineral salts like calcium from our own bones, cartilages and teeth. The result is the typical demineralisation by acidity. The possible long-term consequences are a whole bunch of well-known illnesses caused by civilization, like joint complaints (arthrosis and arthritis), gout seizures, soft tissue rheumatism, osteoporosis, diabetes, gastritis, diarrhea, irritable colon, heart complaints, eczema, overweight (blocking of the metabolism).
The excess of acid admission is an effect of today's nutrition. The acid-base balance of today’s nutrition usually is 80% acids and 20% bases and is thus straight in reverse relation to the needs of the body. We eat too much, too fat, too sweet and we eat way too much animal protein. By the means of hard manual labour acids could be out-sweated and breathed out. But physical action of that kind is missing in most of our modern lives. A further problem is the frequent slagging of stomach and intestine. This is one cause for the fact that our digestion is insufficient and therefore supplies not enough minerals for our body.
What can we do?
Removal of the slag by intestine cleaning and fasting cures can be one form of releasing our body; however only under suitable medical monitoring.
Most important is a conscious and consistent change in our nutrition habits in favour of a reformation of bases in our body. Constituents of this new nutrition should be: vegetables, very fresh milk, potatoes, chestnuts, ripe fruits and herbal teas. Invaluable is the use of base building products like Basenpulver III by Herbamed, a proven and balanced dietary supplement.
One dilutes an accumulated teaspoon of Basenpulver each morning in a large glass of warm water and drinks this mixture 15 minutes before breakfast. To drink sufficiently during the cure is very important for the following leachate of the acids. It is enough for 2-3 months. One can really achieve a lot to remain healthy for little money.
